How do I redact text in a PDF or image?

Open a file in Cloakit, then tap on detected text or draw a rectangle over the area you want to hide. Choose a style — solid blackout, blur, or pixelate — then export.

The app isn't detecting text correctly. What can I do?

Make sure the document is well lit and in focus if scanned from the camera. You can always draw a manual rectangle over any area, even if text detection misses it.

How do I export or share a redacted file?

Once you're happy with your redactions, use the export/share button to save the file or send it to any other app.

What does Cloakit for Mac detect automatically?

Cloakit for Mac scans PDFs and images and automatically finds national IDs, emails, phone numbers, card numbers and faces, listing them ready to hide with one click. Everything runs locally — nothing is uploaded.

Can I hide the same value everywhere it appears in a document?

Yes — if the same ID, email, phone or card number repeats across pages, Cloakit hides every occurrence in one click.

How do I hide only some faces in a photo?

Cloakit detects every face in the image. Select exactly which faces to blur or blackout — the rest of the photo stays untouched.

All platforms

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Text and face detection, and redaction, run on your device on every platform. Your files are not uploaded to process redactions and stay with you unless you choose to share the exported result.

I subscribed but Cloakit still shows the free limits. What do I do?

Open the app's paywall or settings screen and tap "Restore Purchases." If the issue persists, email us at support@cloak-it.app with the email or account used for the purchase and the store (App Store or Google Play).

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play, not by Cloakit directly. On iOS/macOS, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android, open the Google Play Store → Payments & subscriptions.

How do I request a feature or report a bug?

Email support@cloak-it.app with a description of the issue or idea, and screenshots if possible.

How do I delete my data?

Cloakit processes files locally and doesn't keep copies after you close the app. To request deletion of any data tied to your device (see our Privacy Policy), email us at the address above.
